Location

Jl. Peneleh, Gg. VII No. 29-31, Peneleh, Genteng District, Surabaya, East Java 60274

The H.O.S. Tjokroaminoto Museum, located at Jalan Peneleh Gang VII No. 29-31, Surabaya, was formerly the home of Haji Oemar Said (HOS) Tjokroaminoto (1882–1934), a national movement figure and leader of the Sarekat Islam (Islamic Union). This house served as the residence of HOS Tjokroaminoto, his wife, Soeharsikin, and their five sons and daughters: Oetari, Oetarjo Anwar, Harsono, Islamiyah, and Sujud Ahmad. It also served as a gathering place, a place to learn, and exchange ideas with young men who would later become prominent figures in the nation, such as Soekarno, Semaoen, Alimin, Musso, Kartosuwiryo, and others who attended the Hogere Burger School in Surabaya.

The house was occupied from 1912 until his death in 1934, this house was inaugurated as a museum by the Surabaya City Government on November 27, 2017. More than just a residence, this museum is a center for education in the history of the nation's struggle, a place for the younger generation to learn the values of struggle, honesty, and nationalism inherited by the "National Teacher", H.O.S. Tjokroaminoto.
